June Brown
June was born on June 30, 1935, in Floydada Texas, to W.P. Ware and Grace Beard. She died October 21, 2014, in Lubbock.
Funeral services were held in Hart, beginning at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Josh Faucett, pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Hart Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, Dimmitt.
Live music was by Pat Smith on the organ and Neoma Wiliams. Trish Elliott was vocalist.
Pallbearers were Kirk Farris, Brad Barnes, Harold Bob Bennett, Steve Whitaker, Coy Myrick and Eliazar Castillo. Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Myrick, Newlon Rowland, Johnny Bill Ware, Jimmy Ray Davs, Clinton Ware and Hiram Womack.
She graduated from Lockney High School. She attended Texas Tech University and Arizona State, and graduated from West Texas University with a Bachelor in Industrial Arts.
She taught school at Dalhart, Dimmitt and Hart ISD. She married Dewayne Brown on August 8, 1963. She was a member of CHI PSI Sorority in Hart, First Baptist Church of Hart, where she served on the Decorating Committee. She served on the Hart ISD school board, was a Sunday school teacher for many years, and she served as the First Lady of the Texas Grain and Feed Association. She was a proud member of the PTA of Plainview when her boys attended school there.
Her hobbies were painting, playing cards with friends at the Raider Ranch in Lubbock as a resident, taking care of animals, and, above all, June had a very generous and giving heart and spirit.
June is survived by her son, Garland Ware Brown, and wife Crystal of Dimmitt and their two children, Anna Blaire Brown and Garland Blaine Brown.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Brown; a son, Blair Brown; her parents; and two brothers, Bill and Joe Ware.
