Willie Diaz, 74, of Hart, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of a Christian Burial was held on Friday August 14, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Hart. Rev Raj Arockia, pastor, officiated, assisted by Deacon Paul Herrera. Arrangements were handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.
Willie was born September 2, 1940, in Coleman, Texas, to Bonefacio and Beatrice Diaz. He was a resident of Hart for 52 years, where he was a self- employed mechanic. He married Gloria Diaz on January 6, 1963, Dimmitt.
He would help anyone in need. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing; he loved Mariachi music, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Diaz of Hart; a daughter, Julie Gonzales of Amarillo; three sons, Bonefacio Diaz, Cecil Diaz and Michael Diaz, all of Hart; four brothers, Bennie Diaz of Amarillo, and Rudy Diaz, Joe DeLeon and George Moreno, all of Tucson, Arizona; five sisters, Oralia Rodriguez of Lubbock, and Odelia Celaya, Teresa DeLeon, Sally DeLeon and Beatrice Rodriguez, all of Tucson Arizona; six grandchildren: Kathleen Ocanas, Jamie Diaz and Jordan Diaz, all of Lubbock; Ryan Diaz and Camryn Diaz, both of Lockney, and Matthew Diaz of Hart; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Diaz and Bailey Diaz of Lubbock and Caydence Diaz of Lockney
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alex Moreno.
