King Announces Re-election

Ken King Announces Re-election Bid

Representative Ken King announces he is seeking re-election to serve the constituents of House District 88. Representative King was elected in 2012 and currently is in his second term of office.

Speaker Joe Straus assigned Ken to the following committees:  House Public Education, Environmental Regulation, House Administration, and the very powerful Calendars Committee. Straus also appointed King to the House Research Organization Board.

King, who says he is a proponent of public education, is a former school board member of Canadian ISD. “You sent me to Austin to fight for District 88. One of the most important things we work on is education. Our very existence depends on a first-class school system. Rural Texas deserves as much focus when it comes to schools as their urban counterparts.”

King says he only carries legislation important to District 88.  “I am more concerned with quality than quantity.” He says he doesn’t believe that filing and passing a lot of bills makes you a good legislator.

“I will continue to focus on education, water and transporation to make sure Texas remains the best place in the nation to live and do business in.”

King is vice-president of King Well Service in Canadian. He and his wife Robin have two children, who attend public schools in Canadian.”
