Paul Velasquez, 58, of Proctor, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, in Comanche.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Muleshoe Cowboy Fellowship Church in Muleshoe. with Rogelio Velasquez, brother to Paul and pastor of El Sendero dela Cruz, Hart, officiating. Interment of Paul’s cremains followed in Hart Texas. Arrangements were handled by Stephenville Funeral Home of Stephenville.

Paul was born on November 18, 1955, in Idalou to the late Jose Carlos and Manuela Martinez Velasquez. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Dublin, and was a truck driver.

Paul is survived by three brothers, Herman and wife Carolyn Velasquez of Mooringsport, Louisiana, Roger and wife Noemi Velasquez of Hart, Floyd and wife Sylvia Velasquez of Hart, Rey and wife Amelia Velasquez of Hart, and Max and wife Yolanda Velasquez of Denton; four sisters, Eva Zavala of Plainview, Eloise Valadez of Stockton, California, Mary Velasquez of Lubbock, and Carmen and husband Obed Hinojos of Lubbock; longtime companion, Kay Shelton of Proctor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul also was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
