Donnie Lynn Black, 63, of Amarillo, TX, former Hart resident,  died on Friday, May 15, 2015,  in Amarillo, TX. Memorial services were  at 11 a.m.  on Thursday, May 21, 2015, in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt  with Reverend Wilbur Ormond, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Hart, officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home in Dimmitt, Texas.

Donnie Lynn Black was born on September 8, 1951 in Olton, Texas, to Charles Gene and Wanda June (Wagner) Black. He graduated from Hart High School in 1970. He completed a saddle making program in 1978 at Texas State Technical School in Amarillo. In 1979, he opened Black Saddlery in Dimmitt.

He married Bernadine Marie Shaffer in 1999 in Ruidoso, NM. Donnie worked as a truck driver for Walmart for 20 years. He was a talented musician, which his children inherited. His hobbies included working with leather, riding motorcycles and horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gene and Wanda June Black, and a brother, Ricky Gene Black.

Survivors include his wife,  Bernadine Marie Black of Amarillo; one daughter, Reyla Rene Auldridge and husband Tracy of Booker, Texas; two sons, Brady Don Black and wife Brie of Grapevine, Texas, and Brodie Gene Black and wife Whitney of Lexington, Kentucky; one brother, Chad Black and wife Tammy of Hart; four grandchildren and one on the way.
