Early Voting For Special Election
There will be a special election on May 9 to fill a seat on the Hart School Board. The seat is now held by Martha Gonzales, who was appointed last year when Mary Ann Carrasco resigned so her daughter, Ruby Romero, could be employed as a teacher and coach. The nepotism rule prompted Carrasco to resign.
When someone is appointed, the seat comes up for election the next election cycle. Also filing for the seat are Julissa Chavez and Maria Marquez. The Pulse, for the March edition, did not list Chavez as a candidate because she signed up, according to the administrative office, at “the last minute.”
The terms of Elodia Rodriguez and Raul Gonzales are up in May; they are unopposed and have been declared elected. The General Election has been cancelled.
