Some of the winners during Hart Days have been made available to The Pulse.
Winner of the Hart VFD’s drawing for a 2014 Polaris 400 4X4 was Thomas McClung of Albuquerque, NM. McClung is the owner of the Tylene Perry Trust and was in town for the celebration. One was not required to be present at the drawing.
In the 3-on-3 basketball tourney, Coach Adam Zepeda announces the winner of the men’s division: the team of Rosario Gonzalez, Isaiah Marquez and Eric Orozco.
Zepeda said the winner of the women’s division is a team from Silverton, but he did not have the names of the players.
Vickie Ethridge, coordinator for the EDC cook-off, announces winners of the cook-off divisions. She had different judges for each division.
Brisket: 1st was Dustin Dyer; Stanley Dyer was 2nd; and 3rd place went to Ty Waller.
Sausage: Ty Waller won first; Michael Carson was 2nd and 3rd went to Roy Gonzales.
Ribs: Michael Carson was 1st in this division; Ty Waller, 2nd; and Stanley Dyer, 3rd.
Chicken: Ty Waller won 1st; Dustin Dyer, 2nd; and 3rd, Stanley Dyer.
Specialties: Rene Gonzales, Sr. was 1st with Blue Goo Pie. A pulled pork entry by Dustin Dyer was 2nd, and Ty Waller’s Bacon-wrapped Shrimp came in 3rd.
Parade winners include Centennial Bank with first-place float. J.D. Myrick was first in the vintage cars division with a 1958 Chevrolet Impala.
