Steve Albracht, 52, of Hart passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas, at University Medical Center.  His funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017,  in the First Baptist Church of Hart with Pastor Gene Meacham officiating.  Burial  followed in Hart Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.  

Steve  was born on July 20, 1964, in Tulia, Texas,  to Sam Albracht and Marjorie (Schacher) Albracht.  He was raised in Nazareth and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1982.  He married Sheryl McLain on September 19, 1987, in Hart at the First Baptist Church.  Steve farmed most of his life and was a member of the Bayer FiberMax One–Ton Club for cotton production and received many ag awards, including 11 national corn yield titles.  He was a spokesman for Pioneer Seed and Stoller through the years and enjoyed sharing his farming knowledge with other farmers.  Farming was his life,  but he also enjoyed driving cars, especially Corvettes, playing cards, playing golf and challenging his children in different sports.  Above all, he loved spending quality time with his family. 

Steve is survived by his wife, Sheryl Albracht of Hart; one son, Keenan Albracht of Hart;  two  daughters, Kembra Schulte and husband Dustin of Lubbock and Kelcy Albracht of Lubbock; parents, Sam and Marjorie Albracht of Nazareth; two brothers, Chris Albracht and wife Anna of Amarillo and Dale Albracht and wife Tami of Lubbock; 2 sisters, Liz Hernandez and husband Pascual of Sonora and Cindy Huseman and husband Scott of Nazareth;  two  brothers-in-law, James McLain and wife Julie of Springlake and Benny McLain and wife Aimee of Nazareth; 2 sisters-in-law, Dana Black of Tulia and Jill Smith and husband Jerry of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.J. and Irene Albracht and  F.P. and Lucille Schacher;  father and mother-in-law, Cleve and Shirley McLain;  and a brother-in-law, Cary McLain.
