You Can Represent The Panhandle As A Silver-Haired Legislator
SILVER-HAIRED LEGISLATURE GIVES VOICE TO OLDER TEXANS
Panhandle residents age 60 and older have an opportunity to represent the Panhandle region’s senior population as a Texas Silver-Haired Legislator (TSHL.)
These legislators work with the Texas Legislature on senior issues, which may become law. If you are 60 or older, reside in one of the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle and are a registered voter, you may file as a candidate for election in the TSHL. Terms are for two years. Completed forms and petitions must be returned to the Area Agency on Aging of the Panhandle no later than February 28, 2017 along with a $5 filing fee.
